1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using patentOS ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Service Description
patentOS is a cloud-based platform providing AI-powered IP law research, portfolio management, and access to qualified IP law firms. It serves inventors, researchers, companies, and IP practitioners worldwide.
3. Subscription & Billing
The Service is offered on a subscription basis with Free, Researcher, and Professional plans. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled. Refunds are available within 7 days of initial purchase.
4. Your Data
You retain all rights to your data. We do not claim ownership of any content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process, store, transmit, and permit access by authorised patentOS personnel solely to operate, secure, troubleshoot, support, and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes restricted administrator access to stored Public-chat records and deadline records. Private-chat text is not stored by patentOS and therefore is not available in the administrator panel.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: share login credentials, attempt to access other users' data, use the Service for unlawful purposes, upload malicious files, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
6. AI Disclaimer
The AI features of patentOS provide general information about IP laws and procedures. They do not constitute legal advice. You should always consult a qualified IP professional for specific legal matters.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Deadlines, reminders, risk labels, statutory rules, and administrator-assisted status changes are organisational aids, not legal advice or an undertaking by patentOS to monitor your portfolio. You remain responsible for verifying and meeting every filing date. patentOS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
9. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
